Over Easter weekend, band members from ESMS, NEMS, and TCHS attended District 2 Solo and Ensemble in Thomasville. These students could perform a solo or a group piece for a judge for ratings. I am so proud of all the students (and Directors) who took on this task, prepared, and performed so well!

🎢 Future Engineers in Action!
Students in Coach McDearmid's Physical Science classes kicked off their Forces and Motion culminating project by stepping into the shoes of roller coaster engineers!
Working in teams, they designed and tested coasters that met specific criteria — applying science, creativity, and collaboration every step of the way. Next up: using their designs and calculations to create a promotional pitch to "sell" their coaster to an amusement park! 🎡📊 We love seeing learning come to life!

Over the last day and a half, James completed the interview process for a Georgia FFA state officer position. James completed a knowledge exam, two personal interviews, and a group interview. The nominating committee report will be shared next week during the Georgia FFA state convention, and those who are nominated by the committee will be voted on by Georgia FFA members to serve the association for the upcoming year.
James, your commitment, leadership, and passion for agriculture shone through every step of this intense process. Your hard work, dedication, and passion for leadership in agriculture are truly inspiring. We wish you the best of luck next week in Macon!

🌳 Arbor Day at TCHS! 🌳
This year, TCHS began a new and exciting partnership with the Tifton Tree Board! In celebration of Arbor Day, the Tree Board generously donated two Southern Live Oaks, which were planted right here on our campus by Justin Martin’s Forest Science class, with support from Mrs. Johnson.
We’re proud to take part in efforts that make our community greener and stronger—and we’re just getting started! TCHS students will continue working with the Tree Board in upcoming community service events, helping to plant and mark trees throughout the city of Tifton.
Here’s to growing roots in our community—literally! 🌱💚
