Students in Mrs. Renee Hughes' Lit Comp 2 class worked to prepare for an argumentative essay. Key concepts were written on the board, and students were asked to think about the articles, poems, and stories they had read during the unit. Students then added the titles of texts that connected to each concept.

This activity allowed students to visualize how multiple sources could support similar ideas or arguments. Seeing the texts grouped under shared concepts helped students recognize connections across readings and understand how different sources could be synthesized to support a claim.

By organizing the readings in this way, students were able to see that strong argumentative essays draw from multiple sources rather than relying on a single text in each paragraph. The visual mapping helped reinforce the idea that evidence from several readings can work together to strengthen an argument.

🌮 New Menu Item Alert! 🌮

Something delicious is coming to our cafeterias! Tomorrow, March 18th, ALL Tift County Schools will be serving a new Pork Quesadilla on the lunch menu.

This new item was recently previewed to the Student and Staff Superintendent Advisory Councils, and it was a huge hit! Now it’s your turn to give it a try.

Enjoy it with salsa or our famous “Blue Devil Sauce.” Be sure to stop by the cafeteria and let us know what you think!

This insanely talented group of students brought home some pretty big trophies to Tift County High School after a great performance on Saturday!

They placed 4th runner-up at the FAME Orlando National Show Choir Competition at the Hard Rock Live. Competing against other grand champions from across the US, Eighth St Singing Co has definitely left an impression on the National Stage. There is no doubt we will be back, and soon!

Tifton, be proud! They not only represented our town but also our state, and they were exceptional. 💙🎶🎤
