Students in Mrs. Drawdy’s 5th grade class are learning about different types of technology used to protect from natural disasters. Students worked in groups to build a levee to protect their town from a flood. They observed their engineering process to evaluate if their structure would withstand a flood. Mrs. Newell’s third graders became paleontologists! After learning all about fossils and how they are formed, the students put on their explorer hats and got to dig for their very own fossils. It was a hands-on adventure full of excitement, discovery, and a little bit of “dirt”!
