College...The Only Way to Go!

Today wasn’t just “College Awareness Day” (all staff members wore jeans and their favorite college jersey) and a dress down day for students at G.O. Bailey. Today, our students learned first-hand what could happen if they continue their education. We got a visit from Matthew Crumley and Andrew Gorton who are both studying to be Meteorologists through the online program at Mississippi State University. Mr. Gorton also has a journalism degree from Oklahoma State. Matthew and Andrew talked with students today about weather of all sorts and actually brought the WALB storm tracker truck with them. How cool! Students were able to take a peek inside the truck at all the computers and instruments used to track and report weather conditions from hurricanes to tornados to thunderstorms. Today was filled with excitement, awe and weather! We may have some future meteorologists here at G.O. Bailey.
